Can you tell us the cause of the fault? Have you a report on the failure? Reason for warranty being denied? Age of the vehicle? Milage?

Give as many details as you can, or as you deem proper, and we'll see what we can make of it for you.

The trouble with imports I guess, as manufacturers & dealers can punish you for not lining their pockets through the proper distribution channels. Hopefully you got it very cheap to start with.

I wonder if this import was even adjusted to use euro fuel?

I've always thought that as a UK resident purchasing a vehicle from a US dealer it's a case of "you're on your own". There are official UK importers who provide a warranty, but obviously that's what you pay extra for. Also US residents using a vehicle in the UK (eg. servicemen) have UK warranty support backed by a few garages - mainly around US bases.

The only thing I might suggest is contacting one of the US car mags (eg. Classic American) or take it further up the chain with Dodge.

The truck was brand spanking new in sept 04 at the time of the incident it had approx 5000 kms on th clock Carr's of Exeter (where the RAC recovered the truck too) did the preliminary investigation and found traces of coolent in no9 cylinder with no sign's of tracking they think it was possibly a porous head.I still have the old block, piston's etc But the head's were sent back as core unit's for the new one's a saving of $600 i only found out after they had gone back,I still have the email's between us and the sellor who is in Nova Scotia Canada, he didn't seem to have a problem with sorting the warrenty work until he suddenly stopped answering email's and the phone watch out for Carson export. We are in south Devon and any one is welcome to call in for coffee.

I suggest finding some Dodge US forums, and asking there as well. They may well have knowledge of this type of fault, it might be common. If so, they may offer advice so that you can be refunded the repair costs.

Its doesnt really help the cause but its a bit of a known fact that Dodge like any other US manufacturer doesnt give warranty to imports, unless its was an official UK vehicle brought through the UK delearship network. Think your only chance would of been telling them the Ram was in the States, then shipping both ways at your expense, pretty naff really that the warranty is void once the vehicle leaves the US.

There's probably some info in small print get out clause about exports on the warranty documents if they came with the truck, Good luck with this quest
