after reading about the decibel limit at the asda charity day,do you know there is now a 104 decibel limit at elvington, york !!.it has been introduced since protests from the natives about F1 testing (some people have no sense of humour).even on the monthly track days, participants cars are checked for noise levels.i wonder if this will affect TOTB etc

if its enforced thats the end of TOTB every car there is noisy
I will enquire..

looks like there's only going to Santapod and Avon Park left by the end of the year, Rod with the tuned cossie was at Bruntingthorpe 2 weeks ago, he reckons every event from now will noise limited......they tested cars before anything was allowed on track, and some were asked to leave the circuit during the day.

Very bad news indeed, there arnt many venues left that the noise nazis havnt interfered with ! Whats left......Santa Pod, Avon Park, Crail in Scotland, Woodbridge. Any others ? It really would be extremely difficult to emasculate a tuned Vipers noise level down to 104db. Is everything about the UK becoming more nannyish by the year.

according to Chris who organises TOTB:

"case went to court this week, so i'll find out on sunday and let you know
the actual result. 105db has already been in place since october 05 anyway
for all trackdays, however we may be able to get special exemption for totb and thats what i'm awaiting news on. 105db is a static test at 3/4 throttle .5m from exhaust, not a drive by limit. currently no drive by limits in place or expected"
