External / Internal Door Switch Not Working

Hi

My Ext / Int door switch on passenger side are not working, when I press the ext switch a noise appears under the dash somewhere, however the fuse is fine.
Anyone have any an idea as to what is wrong, as the mot station won't pass the car until it is fixed.

could be spliced/trapped wires up by the hinges, where they pass from body to door is usually the problem

Thanks for the response, you wouldn't have an idea which colour wires are for the switches?

nope, but it will be in the service manual

Open the door and pull back the little rubber boot and you will soon see if they are broke......
