Been having battery problems for a while gradually getting worse. Early start for Bruntingthorpe this morning, eventually boost started and set off. Stopped at Toddington to put the roof up and would not restart. AA arrived and after examination pronounced the battery as 'shagged' (some kind of technical term I believe). Much disappointment for failing to reach Bruntingthorpe and meeting everyone but unsure if i could start it again. It took the AA man's booster and jumpleads from his truck battery!

Anyhow I have heard good things about Optima batteries from the off rosd fraternity but before ordering one wondered if anyone has experience of them. Are they recommended? Are their any alternatives?

most stick with the Mopar batteries, cheap off Chrysler

If the SRT is anything like a GTS/RT you need a Optimate on all the time its parked, ashame that happened today of all days

Sod's Law prevails sometimes. Look forward to other events/meetings though. A silly question may be but what is an Optimate?

a battery tender that gives the battery a workout, not only does it charge/maintain but also run its down slightly, its supposed to be better for the battery than just keeping it fully charged all the time

with the alarm (a big drain) on a good battery on the gen 2, the car would struggle to start if left for 2-3 weeks. Nearly every owner viper has one of these

Ok, here's the latest. Bought a new battery fitted it last night,, fully charged started the car with ease. Problem sorted or so I thought. Went to start it this morning and no go just all the warning lights and clicking. I can only guess that someting is causing a massive drain on the battery to discharge it to the point of not starting overnight. I have a 2004 SRT 10 now with 600 or so miles. It is absolutely standard except for an RAC Trakstar. Since it was in a secure locked garage I did'nt even have the alarm on. I had previously checked for any other device left on and nothing. Any help would be most gratefully appreciated or I may have to enlist a main dealer which I am not at all keen on.
