Bling Has a Broken Heart

Just spoke to nigel and Bling is beyond help looks like something destroyed the oil pump which in turn has destroyed the whole bottom end of the engine.

Bling will need a load of specialised work or a new heart.

Any ideas where we could source a heart????

There might be a Gen2 engine still available from a 98/99 silver GTS it sounds like the car was crushed but not 100% yet...

I haven't heard it sold, there was a low miles '96 GenI stock motor a guy had for a Aston project that never happened, I bought some bits off him several years ago, but I don't know hat he ever sold the engine? If Neil doesn't have the guys contact still (as he placed an add on our site) then I'll have a route about, if not...GenI bottom end could be picked up in the USA from the right place and shipped over, but you'd be looking at a few K? If I can help in anyway, just let us know.

Thanks guys for your offers of help. I'm going to let Phil Waters the ex Chamberlain mechanic who originally built the engine take a look at it once he's finished with Pete M's GTS. We can then see what the damage is. Top end looks OK but lots of bearing material in the sump plus a screw head which had sheared off from the oil baffle plate!
