I am experiencing a problem in that my Viper RT10 has a side exhaust which is continuing to burn through the side cowling.

Obvioiusly this is not only a practical problem but also one that certainly spoils the look of the vehicle.

Has anyone a solution to stop the damage or alternatively does anybody know where I could get a European exhaust to go through the centre of the vehicle which would alleviate the problem plus an idea of cost.

just swap for hi-flow cats, this greatly reduces heat, a free flowing catback will help even more. There should be heat shields within the sill and against the chassis maybe they aren't functioning correctly. Some have used header wrap to help insulate as well.

All vipers including euro spec have exhausts running through the sills as there is no where else to put them. A exhaust running all the way through the centre doesnt exist I'm afraid

Is your viper a gen1 ?
if your car is around 1994 I've heard of the OE cats becoming blocked, thus restricting airflow and building up heat, is it only on one side?

Thank you very much for your quick response and I appreciate the information. Could you suggest where I can obtain and an idea of cost?

Do you mean is it a genuine one!? If so, yes.

Carl has a set for sale about 7 posts below this thread, you may need a slight modification as usually they are a different diameter to the OE exhaust

gen1 upto 1996
gen2 after 1996 upto 2002
gen3 after 2003
gen= generation
