Thanks Nadine!
Discussion
Hi guys. As a new viper member it was a pleasure to meet up with some of you at Steve's BBQ last weekend. What a great collection of cars (and people of course). A big thank you to Nadine for derestriciting my airflow and pointing out the problem with the balljoint seals on the front suspension.I've ordered some new seals. The manual says that some special tools are required to fit them and also that the car needs realigning after the lower joint seals have been replaced. Do I need the special tools? How do I go about realigning the car? Has anyone got a contact number or email address for Nadine?

Hi Harry,
Sorry for delay in reply I've been overseas to IOM then NI, and only just touched base!
If you are just replacing the ball joint seals, you do not need the special-part to break the joint, a ball joint 'v-wedge drive' type splitter (of right size) will do the job (< 20 quid in machine mart), since you do not need to protect the boot (as the special tool does). Such a splitter will tear the rubber boot (that retains the grease), but some of yours are shot anyway, so no worries! The boots pop on / off with the aid of a flat screw driver. You'll need a grease gun too!
How do you find / like the baffel gone from the air box?

It makes a HUGE difference not having that baffle in the box. I've certainly got the mod bug now. I've had a look on the Roe Racing website and hopefully will be spending a few dollars later in the year.
The new rubber boots should be arriving soon and also a new oxygen sensor as I've had one side replaced already. Again, the manual talks about a special tool to replace it with. Do I need it?
Hope we get a chance to meet up at another event soon!
PS Is anyone going to Brooklands on Saturday?

Great you've got the mod bug (most Viper owners do, expensive but tons of fun!).
No special tool required for O2 sensor replacement, unplugg connector, (about 12" up from sensor) and use ring end of spanner if can, it is a little tricky to get in there, but they seize themselves in there. When installing new, if doesn't come with anti-seize grease on threads, put a little copper grease on. Check sensor wire routing after fitting, ie not likely to touch, rub or burn on anything (cable tie to engine mounts works well).
