Vipers under 105 db noise are invited to a Goodwood track day in return for taking passengers around for charity. If you are interested please contact Nad, or reply to this post here.

Info regarding the day: A friend last year suffered the loss of two very close people to him, both died of cancer. They always encouraged him to live life fully, seek fulfilment and have fun. Bearing that in mind, he has managed to secure the use of Goodwood Race Circuit (Nr Chichester) for a day, Thursday 11thtAugust 2005 for some fuel filled fun! Inviting some 30 friends with amazing and interesting sports- and race cars, amongst them Ford GT40’s, Corvettes, Lamborghini, Cobra, Jaguars, Vipers, Porches, Ferrari plus many other exotic cars. The idea is to raise funds for Cancer Research, by inviting public to come along and have rides in this wonderful line-up of dream cars on this legendary race circuit, against a small contribution to Cancer Research.

Details are: The event will start at 10:00 a.m. and go on till 5:00 p.m. interluded by lunch. Please bring as many people as you possibly can. Goodwood Race Circuit has a unique atmosphere, where you will be able to inspect the cars very close up when parked in the paddock, see and hear them blasting by the grandstands, and ultimately experience the adrenalin pumping thrill of the race track in a seriously fast car. We are well looked after by the Goodwood Marshals, an ARDS registered instructor with overall responsibility for safety on track will be present . Helmets will be available, but do bring your own if you prefer. There are refreshments, but why don’t you bring a picnic, make a day of it!

In addition to experiencing fast cars on the track, you can also enjoy a ride in a vintage Rolls-Royce around the area of Goodwood. It is likely that there will be other interesting classic cars available for similar rides. This treat has been made possible by Frank Catt of Wealden Engineering.

This event could not take place without the kind support from the GTD 40 Car Club, Janspeed of Salisbury, Smart-Tech -Services and Georgina von Etzdorf Ltd.

Just come back from Track Day at Goodwood on Friday, and Sprint on the Saturday and would recommend it to anyone.

My stock GTS managed to get round in 92 seconds on a flying lap and 98 from a standing start, I reckon a modded one should get down into the mid 80's.

I managed to boil my brake fluid after 10 laps, braking at the end of the Lavant straight can concentrate the mind !!!

I'd like to now how the lambo's and ferrari's will be under 105db, a OE viper is, but put a sports exhaust on and you've had it ? unless you can easily muffle it for the day

My OE GTS tested at 93db at Goodwood but just in case I had a unit made for the rear with 2 x 8" mufflers welded together which slide inside the tailpipes and then there is bar running forward with a hole in the end allowing it to be bolted into an exhaust U clamp.

The Ferraris and Astons were using supertrapp discs but these wont fit the GTS as the pipes are too close together.

A lot of cars were n't able to run because of noise, they are very strict, there is a bell that rings in Chichester council offices if the noise limit is breached at the circuit.
