bit of a long shot but before I start phoning across the atlantic I thought I would ask here. there are 2 metal (I think aluminium) coolant/heating pipes that run just below the passenger side valve cover that feed the heater matrix. both are held in place via 2 spacer type brackets fixed to the valve cover and mine is leaking at one of the brackets. does anyone have a spare or know of the best way forward. I don't know if I could get it repaired by brazing ,or could just cut out a section and join with a rubber heater hose (I think 18mm will do the job). I would prefer to get the proper part but fear I may struggle

thoughts,suggestions??

Hi Stewart, I know the pipes you mean, sorry to say I don't have any of those. I can't even find a part number for them?

Just asked for a Part number on the USA VOA forums for you. smile

Part number should be
5245 458AB for a 1998 car but in around 2000 they changed the length of those pipes
And the new number is the same but instead of finishing with AB the letters are AC.

Hope that helps.
Cheers.

thanks for your help Mark, really appreciated. I see the posting you started on the VOA forum and I may add to it with a picture of my mine as the heater pipework diagram doesn't look similar but will check when I get home. as for sourcing the part(if available) is my best bet Partsrack or Chuck Tator?
thanks again
