Viper top speeds?

Yep!......err.....well the Wife in fact!At Elvington in 2003.We never had it flat out,but in the standing 1 1/4 miles she had the speedo reading 190mph!But radar timing trap showed "only"178mph but the wife said the Venom was still pulling and had a fair bit left (Hennessey Motorsport qUOte 194mph and this is very realistic given our own high speed runs with the car).
We recently claimed fastest road legal car at a 1/4 mile open road race here in N.Z and seeing as our car only gets going above 100mph we were very pleased.As for out and out top speeds we have signed up for a 5km open road race later in the year (similar to Silverstate Race in US only much shorter) at Queenstown and there pending on the condition of the road hope to better this speed or even Max the Venom at last!
Watch this space!Nad and Joel have also attempted Maxing there cars and Joel has topped the 180+ mark.I think you may find that most cars speedo will be off the mark once your above 170mph so any true speed can only be via a proper radar trap.But if anyone asks whats the fastest you,ve been in Venom she normally replys ..."Oh....I,ve seen 190+ on the clock !"
