INSURANCE RECOMMENDATIONS
Discussion
For the last 11 years or so I have been able to insure the viper on the company's fleet policy as a director's personal vehicle. I can't do this now as no longer a director. Does anyone have any recommendations (not necessarily the cheapest) for a 98GTS doing under 3000 mls/year ? Thanks
You could try stevenage insurance services. They insure Stock Vipers, but if it has lots of mods they will not touch it.
Of course there is Adrian Flux but they have ALWAYS been really Stupid expensive for me, it depends on postcode too.
A few of us are with CCI Competition car insurance, they do a discount if you are a VOA member (Viper Owners Association) they are part of the Towergate group but have now just past over the admin side of the business to Footman James. So Footman James is worth a call too.

I'm currently with Admiral, 4000 mile limit. They didn't require a tracker fitting which others did, I didn't shop around as I was with them the previous year and the premium was over £100 cheaper than the year before! I did have 6 points too at the time.

I've been lucky enough not to have to claim on any of mine so can only comment on service with renewals. At the moment I am with Hagerty where I have limited mileage (1,000 miles) and what now appears to be a quite low agreed value but was right last year. They are underwritten by Hiscox and I'm paying in the ballpark of what is being quoted here. Hagerty are happy with me doing Dream Rides but I cannot get cover for any track days like we could with CCI.
I had my truck with Classicline and they seemed OK but were not sufficiently cheaper for a Viper to get me to move.

I don't have a viper but I have a challenger SRT8 and every year flux put it up, I shop around and they match it, tried lots of places today and a lot of people had recommended A plan in thatcham but every year they haven't been close, but today they beat flux by £200 so I will be going with them, its a 2009 challenger srt 8 business use 12k miles a year, valued £28k kept on drive in Woodley Berkshire wife on policy and they were £440 so may be worth a try, my classic vettes are insured with Hagerty.
Tried Haggerty but they will only go up to 3000 miles per year + when I told them the Value of the car they insisted on a GPS Tracker system
Flux were better this year but still £300 dearer than my current policy!
AIB Are coming out better, £50 quid dearer but cheaper excess!
Classic line are coming out £20 quid cheaper than my current policy but they don't cover any track events.

having been with cci for the last six years , this year i have changed , just renewed with classicline and they came out £220 cheaper for a better policy. perhaps cci are now longer competitive since teaming with Footman James . Now all back on the road , look foward to seeing you soon

Yeah, CCI are not what they were, and its a shame as they were a good company. They don't get my money any more after withdrawing a written renewal quote and doubling the premium, I'd have taken them off the recommended list on driveviper.co.uk had i not done so a few months previous when the left me on hold for ages until I gave up and hung up 15 minutes after they apparently went home.
