Having read ollies post and the many replies about the chances of ever having a leisurely blast in a viper only to inadvertently bump into anotherviper .Well lets face it ..... the chances are virtually zero ! Or are they ? Yesterday whilst having a cruise in the sun i ventured onto the wirral .Theres a fantastic restaurant right on the coast there called sheldrakes so the vipers nose was headed there .As i approached the car park ,there sat a gts final edition in red ! After getting over the shock i parked up right outside this beautiful place and the gts owner, adam soon got wind of this chance liaison and quickly joined me for some viper chat .The cars together soon created quite a spectacle for the restaurant visitors ,let alone me and my partner .And the moral of this story ... yes olly ,it is such a rare and largely unprecedented event that 2 vipers should ever cross paths simply by chance as they are so rare and choice market .If it happened often i think that the buzz of the occasion might be lost to a degree perhaps ?.Its the first time in my life outside a scheduled meeting that i ever saw another viper on the road and it was well worth the wait to touch base with another owner .These legendary cars can stand with the best of em anywhere in the world and my evidence of that statement is there to see every time i take the viper out .The buzz that it gives to every car fan who sees it on the road gives me a buzz too .Windows suddenly seem to automatically wind down and the i phones and galaxies click away atop a beaming toothy grin ! There are very few cars that elicit such fascination as a dodge viper on the road as the afforementioned clearly proves .I'm glad they are so rare and obscure as when someone does see one the reaction certainly is a grand sight .The chances of me seeing another viper by chance might not be as rare as i thought before yesterday as the top gear programme in my view will propel the marque to new heights .So yesterday sure was a magical bank holiday .Sunshine ,great scenery ,a chance meeting with another viper and a few hours after that .... the very first new top gear .... and which car , of all to choose from do they decide to feature ? the dodge viper !! What a great result for the marque generally and well deserved too .Whilst sat on the balcony later at sheldrakes i pondered over the day and the way it all panned out .It sure was a day to remember .I slept well !!

Nice story, great when something like this happens. I've bumped into a couple of people who own a Viper, but its always 'at home'. In the 4000 miles I've driven in mine, I've still not seen another, even at shows, apart from the Viper meet 'oop North' last September.

Have you still kept the black gen 1 ?

Hi sonic blue .In answer to your question ... No i didnt keep the black gen one .When i got baz's car he found another buyer for the black one .A bit of a collector i believe so its maybe been semi mothballed now .onwards and upwards though as baz's viper sure is a hell of a replacement !
