Chrysler are official UK/Europe modes, dodge are imports, there are a few minor differences, such as exhaust, ECU fog lights etc But the bit that will affect the insurance is what it says on the V5, its probably not worth the risk to claim you have a Chrysler for insurance purposes if you have dodge on the V5 as insurance probably wont pay out as it would be considered material facts, even though the cars are 98% identical.

Chryslers are easier (by a little bit) to insure because they are UK models, I use Liverpool Victoria who are happy to insure a Chrysler but others have been refused on a dodge. Go figure.

TBH, when it comes to insuring vipers you will probably have to pick up the phone. As even if you do find it online, without a phone call they probably wont cover any mods which if you don’t have any now you shortly will (exhaust). You may as well also start by telling them you want to insure a dodge viper as 90% of the everyday insurers will tell you to get lost just because of the car, but would usually ask 20 questions about you inside leg measurements before asking you what car, they then start laughing when you tell them what car you are trying to insure having wasted 10 minutes of your life on the 20 questions.

"I have spoken to our Underwriters and they have confirmed that we
set the policy up with the car listed as the Chrysler Viper as they are the
same make."

Only about £1K parked on the drive with no, no claims

Perhaps i better call them as my renewal is circa £700 with 75% NCB on the drive (i do keep it in the garage though) mind you when i last called them it was a straight "No" so much for quoting happy.

If they do do that fudge on the Dodge/Chrysler i would get it in writing or at least send them the details in a letter for conformation. As you may tell i don't trust insurance people very much.
