Any comments welcome on Gen4 convertible price. Mine is a clean 08 with 12000 miles.

What's the cost to replace it? Not many (if any) in the UK, a US import would probably cost high 50's by the time you got it here and on the road, so I would value around £60k for insurance purposes.

having had to put in a big claim for a viper, the club insurers were only interested in seeing the invoice (price paid) for the vehicle

Sonicbloo...? I'm insured for replacement value so I'm definitely under-insured.

Viper - I never knew there was a club insurer....tell me more.

If I went by the purchase price, required for a replacement, then I'm at a serious loss on a 'right off' claim.

One for sale $57900 same colour/year/mileage http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dodge-Viper-SRT-10-2dr-Con...

Rough estimate
$57900 + $2100 transport/shipping/insurance

£41958.04 car plus shipping
£ 4195.80 import duty
£ 9230.76 VAT
£ 1500.00 modification/IVA test/registration

£56884.60 Total

Looks like you got a good deal if you've undercut that by a big chunk, but I know you had do some serious legwork as it wasn't exactly 'on your doorstep' smile

Your right about the leg work.... and many sleepless nights (everytime a mate said it was a scam!).
I did a similar calculation to yours and came to the £56k+ valuation figure and thought I must be wrong(so valued it much lower) but it's been niggling me, so hence the reason to seek other opinions.

I'm still trying to get my head around it. rotate
