lot of fanboys on those comments.
its not exactly surprising to me at least that a stripped out near race car for the road has beaten the P1/918/LaFerrari.
Its not the first road legal track day car to beat them and certainly wont be the last.
Not taking anything away from the viper as those times prove its a ferociously fast, accomplished track card, but its a much more focussed tool than the any of the £mill hypercars.

I'm a little more impressed now, given its not fully stripped out but having done a bit more reading its still much more focused than the hypercars with the huge wing and massive amount of downforce. All the reviews I've found were on track, Car and Driver mentioned not being allowed to try it on the road as that's not where its intended to be used.

As for the interior? It's got one, barely. Lightweight carpet, a wimpy three-speaker audio system, and manual seats shave weight from the Viper's gut, and grippy Alcantara suede wrapps the steering wheel and seats.
its a massive performance bargain anywayandburg said:

Yep that's my Gen4 ACR in sainsburies car park, i see no reason not to do the same with a Gen5 ACR, in fact from what i understand the gen5 is less compromised than the Gen4 given it has more electrical gizmos and better interior in the first place

I've only just got my gen 4 acr and love it more than any car I've owned, it's a true drivers car with plenty to teach you on the track. Last week around Bedford I could feel the car getting better with each lap. I'm not a race driver and I have a lot to learn but the car was very capable despite what most think about american cars with big engines and lots of power not able to handle corners.
I am finding it very hard not to put a 1 of 1 order in to get a extreme aero acr to replace or better still just compliment the one I already have. It's proven it's worth around short distance tracks I would hazard a guess it could better the 918 at 'the Ring' despite suffering top speed limited by aero. After all it's the corners that make this track tricky and maintaining the speed in and out.
Next year I'll be taking the ultimate challenge with my acr and visiting the ring and spa, I in no way expect to do 7:12 . I'll be happy to get the car around in one piece and avoid the barrier wall.
Well done team viper, keep the track records coming and let's see the viper regain the king of the ring title!

Straight from the Factory ..
Mate in NYC has just bought an ACR Extreme. And it still comes with all the goodies of stereo,AC navigation ect.. where as the General 4 ACR Hard core had no stereo, carpet, amps ect.
All for a great price which I think is brilliant ...
That really makes this even more impressive. The aero doesn't look anything out of the ordinary for a track style car. Splitter and canards at the front and a decent sized rear wing. Does anyone know what the actual downforce figures are? The US guys are saying it's very high. Also has anyone got any links to what the splitter looks like from the bottom? I wounded just how race car it really is. Mate in NYC has just bought an ACR Extreme. D3 engineering in the states have a solution for the aero limiting top speed. More POWEERRRRRR!!!!!!http://driveviper.com/forums/threads/10124-D3-Perf...

Nick, D3 Engineering in the states have for an interesting way of dealing with the speed limiting aero. More POWWEEERRRR!http://driveviper.com/forums/threads/10124-D3-Perf...
