Mopar Fluids in the UK, Changes!

Seems now after contacting my local Chrysler Jeep Dealer that Genuine Mopar fluids are no longer available!

turns out all fluids now come from Petrolis and they have a conversion chart from Chrysler!

Example Red Antifreeze mopar part number 05103532EB (Red) is available but is now called Aros Farm Fluid and comes in gallon containers.

Same with Diff oils and additives, chrysler UK now just cross reference numbers and supply Petrolis fluids.

So you no longer get a Bottle with a blue white official Mopar logo on it!.


Switching my fluids now to AMSOIL.

yep been like that for a year or so now, all to do with FIAT ownership and as far as fluids are concerned do your own research as the x-ref chart is not always correct, For power steering fluid there was a general change (before fiat) for DCX vehicles that used the clear fluid to switch over to the red ATF/PS fluid, However a small range of vipers were specifically left out of the change and remained on the clear fluid, Fiat's X-Ref chart didn't reflect this and just put all cars on red ATF. I managed to secure the last dusty bottle of the clear mopar fluid from the back of a shelf in guildford, but anything in the future will likely be slik50 or load up the suitcase.

Just ordered Amsoil fluids for the trans and rear diff

75-140 for the rear diff

I've just ordered some of the diff oil additive from the local Jeep dealer. I gave the Mopar part number so I'll see what turns up in a few weeks. They said when they order fluids they have to wait until they have enough for a full consignment.

I'm in no rush, just gathering everything for a winter service.

I've put those diff oils in my truck - very highly rated. You can buy Mopar ATF on eBay, £60 a tub. Also for the truck coolant I found Comma made the most appropriate replacement, you can view their range on their website.

If they are talking about a "consignment" That sounds like they may be importing from USA. I think the USA Still has the Mopar fluids its just Chrysler Europe that is now different.
Chrysler Europe can not search Vin numbers either on Dodge Cars, it seems now they can only cross ref part numbers.

For coolant I've used comma GO48 in the gen2 when i haven't been able to get the moper in the past, it isn't the florescent green of the mopar but rather a blueish green. There is a thread over on the VOA about coolant at the moment with input from My98TR10 in Germany (i expect some of you europhiles know him but I'm not sure from the handle) who says the Ford Motorcraft Premium Antifreeze/Coolant meets the Chrysler three year spec and is the florescent color.

For the Gen4 i have used the comma GO5 which is yellow but meets the relevant Chrysler spec for the Gen4.

As for the oil spec, what were Arrow recommending 15w50 in regards of usage, were they expecting that they built a race engine so it would be used for racing and as such specified 15w50 which is often recommended for heavy track and race use where higher engine temps fewer cold starts and careful warm up are the norm. rather than tootling down the shops with fire her up and go and barely getting the oil warm and therefore knackering the engine again. I'd be inclined to check with arrow if that recommendation holds for street use if that is where the car will be used.

For the record:
Ordered Amsoil from this company
www.performanceoilsltd.co.uk only to get no shipping date and then after contacting paypal got my monies back! (they are still trading but are a small importer), communication was not good!
So if you do use them check its in stock first before paying monies

I have now ordered Antifreeze from a German Company called www.ato24.de, As you expect with Germany, very efficient and great service using DHL and Parcelforce.

Got the Antifreeze today, bought this http://www.ato24.de/motorcraft-antifreeze-premium-... its the bright green stuff (exactly the same as the 3yr Original American Mopar fluid)
This is an American imported brand (not Ford Europe).

and have also ordered the Amsoil from them (which is in stock in Germany)

Comma G05 is HOAT - although its hard to find that information as Comma don't exactly publicise what their products do very well. I'm not recommending it btw, just an observation, last time I changed mine I was able to find Mopar fluids.

Yep Comma G05 meets the mopar spec and is marked as such, (Chrysler MS-9769) which is correct for gen 4 engines and i think is the same for gen 3, this spec is the 5 year red HOAT coolant, the down side to G05 is its yellow, so may not be to everyone's taste, maybe add some food colour

I've done what I should have done originally and called US Automotive.

The proper Mopar ready mixed fluid for £25 less than the tractor fluid above! Not in stock but available in a couple of weeks which is fine for me.

Also if anyone is thinking about fitting a k&n oil filter (with the easy removal nut welded on the base) to their engine don't!

Hence my recent interest in only using the correct factory spec bits.....

USAutomotive arrived within a week.......no tractors on the packaging so all good so far.....!

Parts bloke at Chrysler dealer still insists the tractor Farmflu is correct for these engines though but did reluctantly refund.
