Venom 500 Raced at last !

Just a few pics on this site of Venom 500 racing at Teratoga the worlds most southerly race track last weekend.Venom being driven by myself just blew the chance of a sub 12 sec run without Nos,a 1.2sec reaction time from the green light(time starts over here from the green light NOT when the beam it broken like TOTB)stuffed my chance to break into the 11,s .I posted a 12.5 @ 118mph but unlike the usual .650 ave reation times of the day my slug like reactions not only spoiled a great time but as the rest of the run was perfect my 12.5 time was faster than my dial in time so it put me out!Sarah made it into the 1/4 finals but she was put out by 2 girls!!!!It was getting late in the day and we had to get them home for bed..Ahh...Maybe next time.The event is held on the start finish straight thats about a mile long so can,t be sprayed with "glue" so the times of 7.2@190 mph by the dragsters we even more impressive.What would happen if the chutes failed......pain me thinks!The end of the straight had a very tight bend!See www.southlandphotographics.co.nz for some pics of the event!Venom 500 is making its mark at last!

Yep! Thats Sarah on her very first run since SantaPod in June she got loads of wheel spin...infact if you look lower down on the pic you can make out 2 rather large boot marks..she managed to spin for 200meters in 1/2/3rd....Women Drivers....she posted a poor [e-mail]..ya dead right..it was a stripped out rx7 running a V8 twin turbo on drag radials...it looked a bit shite!....but still whipped arse with a best of 10.7@130mph and went on to win its class.Seems odd to think the last time it 1/4miles was on the other side of the world.As far as we know ,no Viper has ever raced this far south on the planet!
