Grim up Norf Viper Meet
Discussion
Hi guys,
There have been a few new owners up here and a few that have been in hiding. So I'm hoping to arrange a meet for everyone with any venom. I wasn't able to attend Luton as I was working, and rather wait till next year to meet everyone I thought let's get one organised for up'ere! So...
All VOA members welcome, and any viper enthusiast!
Date: (provisionally) Sunday 20th September
Time: 12/1pm (Time enough for people to drive up)
Location: Black Swan, Hollins Green, Warrington, WA3 6LA
I've picked this pub as it's in a nice area, big car park and I know the Landlord.
The pub has accommodation, very nice accommodation in fact but it's up to the owners if they comfy leaving their vipers outside overnight. It's a nice area and it should be fine but I don't want to be responsible! So that's up to them. A plan would be, if we finish food around 3pm, that would give us enough time to go for a drive around Manchester or Cheshire, and if its a nice day, maybe venture into Manchester Centre and give the locals something to look at. Then stop at a pub for a final drink? If there's parking...
If we can get a group of us, Im sure the land lord will give us a discount. Anyone with a viper or dodge variable invited.
So...who's in?

the problem is the majority of the southern gang are at least a couple of hours south of Brum, then another 90 mins of naff motorway to Manchester. And of course late September is always going to be a gamble on the weather
Mich who lives near Mansfield has enticed them up on several occasions with a superbly planned weekend's hooning around the Peak District, with nice overnight hotel and scrummy food throughout.
Don't think any of the regulars have ventured any further 'north' in their vipers for a meet, apart from the race days at Elvington

Colin, there is still a lot more land still north of you than there is south of me. But lets not make this a north south argument.
I don't think the southerners have ruled out the event, a few of us are keeping an eye on it, but it shouldn't need all the southerners to drive up for it to be successful.
Stuart is a new viper owner and new to the VOA, he's enthusiastic and just what we need in the club to get some new events off the ground and i for one am glad he is organizing an event further up the country for the 'northerners' and cutting the journey in half for those in a far off land. He does however need the support of all of those in the region (whatever you want to call it) and especially those who don't come to the southern events because they are too far or always down south.
As a club we need to do more to support Stuart and I hope we can get a communication out into the VOA members inbox promoting it to all those who don't come on here and the VOA site. Perhaps we could even include visa and inoculation information for us southerners who may fancy the expedition.
But come on viper owners in the area, put your name down, go and have a pub lunch with some fellow viper owners, so far there isn't a big group of us southerners coming up so it wont be a big group of friends who all know each other with you being the newbe left on the fringe, and even if we do make the expedition i hope you would still feel included. Whats the worst that could happen, you have a pub lunch with some strangers the same as you would with any pub lunch, but there will be vipers there and you may just make some great new friends and kick-start the VOA in the area.

Thanks for the kind words Dave! I'm trying my best! After looking at the event dates for September, there is nothing planned which is why I picked september, also the fact that we are still on british summer time days so it stays brighter for longer. AND...It's one of only a few sundays Im free from gigging!
But it would be good to get a group of us together to show that we exist for a start! Not to mention, I do know a few other dodge variant owners up here. Up here meaning north of Birmingham! :P
It's months off just yet but Im just putting the info there for anyone who wants a day out. And it's official now as it's on the VOA site!!

Haha trust me it's fully operational. Just like the Death Star Was. The picture on google earth is 5 years old. The pub is now a very cosy place to eat, lots of money was spent on it inside and out. I was there last night gigging actually!!
6 of us so far and counting
