Just a quick couple of questions,

1. Does a gen3 SRT10 come with a spare wheel? I believe they had 'run flat' tyres from the factory, but I think these usually get replaced with regular tyres as these are not very good?
If there's no spare, do most people carry tyre weld or some other type of gunk in case of emergency.

2. How much are Corsa exhausts second hand? and are exhausts easy to fit for a DIY'er

3. How do you wire up a rear foglight, and where is the best place to put a switch? (MOT only - IVA not required)

4. Is Viper wiring 'user friendly/old school' or is it a potential PITA like the 2005+ Mustangs and more modern 'can bus(?)' equipped cars

1) gen 4 comes with a compressor and tire weld combo, no spare, i don't think gen 3 has either as it came with run flats.

2) don't know the price give chuck or jon b a call. I'd have thought they weren't that hard to fit.

3) gen4 coupe has the same rear light as the gen 2 and it is e marked. you can rewire the inner bulb to be a fog and disable the middle one to maintain 10cm separation. you would have to double check a drop top as they have different housings, a mot tester is unlikely to measure it.

The switch i put in the dash to the right of the steering wheel, there are various protected zones where edge radius's don't matter and there are requirements on visibility and reach. I would recommend you take the dash panel out before you drill as what looks like a flat empty surface on the outside may have vent fixings or other re-enforcing behind that could end up in a real mess. I wanted to put my switch on the door side of the steering wheel but there just wasn't room in all the plastic structures behind the nice empty dash space on the outside. Taking the dash out isn't too hard if your careful

4) Its a bit of both, its not super sensitive but things are digital in places and its a mixture of obd2 and canbus. protect circuits from relays with diodes and don't massively change the load on a circuit and you should be fine. if you want to try and use things like the fog indicator in the dash and change the indicator stalk fog function it may get more tricky

Thanks a lot Dave, I'll leave any wiring to an auto electrician methinks! I don't mind spanner work, but electrickery is not by forte (unless you count putting a graphic equaliser in my Datsun Cherry 30 years ago!)

No compressor or tyre fluid in a Gen 3. (Carry an AA card and Tyre Weld)

Corsa exhausts might be best bought new, the lifetime warranty is only valid for the original owner - ask me how I know... Fitment is more fiddly than difficult as you need to line up the exhaust tip with the outer sill which means a lot of 'offering up' of the sill to get it all lined up. Its recommended to get a spot weld put on the join as well to make sure it all stays in place - the clamps on their own do seem to allow the exhaust tip to drop over time. I definitely think if you are going to the effort of shipping those over that you should consider replacing the cats with two highflows (as opposed to the 4 standard ones). The cabin heat from the standard ones is pretty bad on a nice summers day with the roof down.

The rear foglight on most verts (most imports!) is placed from a bracket mounted to the chassis in the hole in the bumper and the cable fed along the chassis rather than through the interior. There is on eBay a rectangular LED foglight which is e-marked and looks nicer than the normal square things although you will have to make up a bracket for it. ( this one)
