I found this story interesting as I typically use this road as one of my 'getting the car out' routes. I've been aware of a couple of accidents this year but was not aware it was as serious as it is. So be careful when driving this route AND expect the road to be 'adjusted' for safety.

There are some pinch points on that road. wonder exactly where the accidents took place, Petworth to Chichester is still a fair way! Think there was a TVR that became a cropper on that road at this years Supercar Sunday? People had commented about the Driving frown I've had a couple of near misses with Deer running across the road Nr Selhurst Park road! The stretch of road from the Flint cottages to Selhurst Park road can be a bit of a gauntlet, no only is there chalk on the road from the tractors going in and out of the fields but some people try to overtake in that area.

We know of one accident in Halnaker where a car full of kids crashed in the 40 zone - very nasty. And I believe there was a McLaren test car that crashed and rolled on it as well. We saw a deer at the side of the road the other day which would have caused some damage. Also there are quite often cyclists, tractors and buses as well as the variety of classics/super cars that head into Goodwood. It also floods quite badly sometimes and has quite a number of nice straight bits followed by nice twisty bits. I'm just a bit worried that as with many of the roads around here any safety measures will not really help safety but will remove any pleasure from the road.

Last Sunday Service I used the A286 made a nice change there was a speed trap as you entered Singleton Village (not a Police speed trap but one telling you how fast you were going on a tripod, no bad thing as the street is narrow and twisty) smile You can then turn Left and have a quick blast up to the Racecourse smile

Yeah that is a nice run as well, usually during the day its really busy and lots of horse boxes with little chance to overtake. Midhurst can be a pain for traffic though smile
