Hi there Venom500

I have been lurking here for a while and noticed your plight in the NZ forum. I have a mate who works in the LTSA head office (Vehicle Compliance), and I showed him your posts. He said that nobody in the LTSA head office has heard about your case and he was wondering if you had actually contacted them (who have you been dealing with?). He said that he was surprised that you are having this problem as Chrysler UK normally issue compliance statements.

Hope you have more luck soon

Colin

Hi Colin,do you have a e-mail contact so I can ply you for some info/contact names and numbers please?I am told the case has gone to the "TOP" at the LTSA but not sure who,ROY MCDONALD MOTORS here in Dunedin has been dealing with things for me,but I have not personaly called anyone from LTSA as I always felt common sence would prevail,I still hope it does and have been told a final ruleing will be given today! But this has been going on for a while and i,m not sure who,s ears in the LTSA it has reached.Thank you for your imput on this matter Colin and I do intend to fight this all the way. When I have more precise news I will post. Also many thanks to all the other posts/help on this matter.THE FIGHT CONTINUES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Watch this space.......Tom.

From what I understand, your case hasn't even reached anyone in the LTSA, let alone the "Top!" Best thing to do would be to write a letter directly to the LTSA (Vehicle Certificaton Unit, PO Box 2840, Wellington) with copies of any documents you have and photos of any compliance plates or stickers on the car.

Hi Venom 500
My friend at LTSA (now LTNZ) has been in touch to say that he has been able to get the Statement of Compliance (SOC) required by VTNZ in order to enable compliance of your Viper. I understand that VTNZ has advised Roy McDonald Motors and possibly yourself of this development. This must be the best kind of Xmas present that you could want !!

My friend tells me that some considerable effort was put in to getting the SOC for the Viper. Daimler Chrysler NZ will not issue SOC's for vehicles that they did not sell new. This has led to a presumption that Daimler Chrysler will not issue SOC's period. My friend apparently found that Daimler Chrysler UK will issue them for vehicles that they supplied just as Daimler Chrysler will do here for vehicles they sold new. THE LTSA has been able to use their contacts with DC UK to get this SOC, but any owner of a vehicle supplied by them (Daimler Chrysler UK) should be able to get one without difficulty. My friend said that LTNZ is happy to work with owners to advise them on how to get a SOC where it is possible to do so. Anybody wanting help should call the Helpdesk on 0800 699 000 and ask for the Vehicle Certification Unit. I hope this is useful info for anybody with compliance problems - and a great outcome for all concerned.

Many thanks Colin for your input on this matter, and it,s good to find out how the SOC was issued and from where.I always hoped something would get sorted but felt getting a SOC was never going to be possible (Tried for several months for DC.UK. to issue me one but was told this could not be done!!!).Thanks again Colin and Have a Great Xmas, and if your ever in Dunedin Area,e-mail me before and your more than welcolm to a sub 100k blast in it!and a cup of tea!All the Best to you,TOM
