For those that aren't part of the Facebook Viper Group (apart from fatboy, is there anyone who isn't?) had a great day out Saturday. Took a cruise with 6 Vipers through the Sierra Nevada mountains up to Lake Tahoe. Scenery was spectacular and a great bunch of Viper people, so friendly. 500 miles in one day for us made a long day - now I know how A & J + T & S feel when they drive up from Cornwall! Weather was perfect as always.

A few pics below to give you a taste of the trip. There's also a short video which is on the Facebook site.

Hey, great pics, looks like your having a great time there thumbup

Fond memories of Lake Tahoe area, that was my last holiday before the other 1/2 moved in!

1991 Was the last time I was there frown myself and a couple of mates took a sea plane ride on the lake too, just near the Ski resort of Homewood smile

That was a Great Holiday.

Awesome pictures Graham, I can confirm I am not in the least jealous (cough....) We were lucky enough to be there about 5 years ago. Tahoe was awesome, and together with driving around Yosemite and Route 1 in our rental Camaro rates as one of my best holidays ever.

You cant be driving vipers up there now, it needs to be snowing, not sunny viper weather. Some fantastic scenery around the lake though.

That's more like it, snows been awful the last two years, guess they used it all up a few years back when we had 8 foot of it in a week. defiantly not viper weather, it was scary enough on the 50 in a 4x4 and the 89 past emerald bay was pretty much shut all week.

Not sure if we will make it to Tahoe this year, flying into Vegas and keeping our options open between Tahoe, salt lake or Colorado, or may just do both LT and SLC in a big Nevada shaped road trip.

yeah its a shame, last few years we have flown into SFO and started from there and we could have met up in san fran but this year the flights to LV were irresistible plus its more central for the snow hunt, last year we skied in 6 states starting with a two day drive from san fran to Bozeman MT where the snow was fantastic, but then an inversion set up over the whole of the western US and things gradually got worse, with freezing rain and fog by the time we got to Utah and then ice in Tahoe, so we bailed and headed north to Oregon.

If you want any tips on Tahoe skiing I think we have skied them all now apart from Squar and soda springs.

PS Don't limit yourself to Tahoe skiing, you could drive to salt lake in a day driving right past Bonneville
