I've decided to go AEM with my 1996 RT/10. Got a good deal on second and 1500 EMS and have taken it in person to the AEM shop in LA to get checked over and reconditioned. I'm working with an electronics engineer to provide addional cooling to the unit with a fan and some heat sinks inside the box. We'll see what happens! smile

As far as the cooling issues, could one not extend the wiring harness and stick the unit in the front grille? To be honest I've no idea exactly what a AEM unit is, but removing it from the engine bay sounds like a better idea?

It's quite difficult to remove it from it's existing location due to issues of wiring. But the AEM ECU doesn't over-heat due to the ambient temp in the engine bay, more to do with electrical components over-heating. I'm thinking of having a fan fitted to the unit that will pull air through it. I'll have a switch fitted to the fan so that it'll only operate once the engine bay is warm enough so that it is not pulling moist air into the ECU.
