Even though I'm probably 3-4 years away from buying a Viper, I can't help looking at the classifieds on a regular basis (as you do!).

PH classifieds currently show 7 for sale in the UK, but when you look at them it turns out 1 is a kit car, 1 is a truck, 2 are the same ASC advert (both sold) 1 (georgeous) silver car (also sold) and 1 is a RHD ex-fire damaged car converted from RT10 to Coupe.

Not much choice at the minute then.........just 1 RT10

Most of us tend to hang onto them wink

How many Vipers have you seen driving on the UK's Roads? Even as a Viper owner I think I have only ever spotted 2 in 5 years! (apart from club events).

A lot of the cars tend to get sold on referral, someone knows of one for sale etc.

There are also some bad ones out there too, so make sure you ask here first before handing over any cash.

I went for the import route, never ever had I done anything like it before, buying from a private seller, (Not a Dealer).

I had a great experience. It depends what model, year you are looking for, How many owners, history of the car, any CarFax problems? Milage etc, once you know what your after start the searching smile Good luck.

thanks for the advice/replies, I'm (or will be) looking for a 2006 GTS coupe in Viper blue....... although in an ideal world with money no object I would go for a later model in Orange or Snakeskin green. I have imported 2 Mustangs from the US in the past, but this was when the dollar/pound exchange rate was almost 2:1. When I bought my latest Mustang (05 GT convertible) I bought in the UK as it made much more sense. I can't see the sense in importing unless the exchange rate improves as I'd be looking at almost £50k, whereas I expect my budget to be £35k max. Whether I can find a GTS coupe within budget in a few years is debateable but you never know your luck!

2006? You mean SRT/10 Coupe?

Yes. sorry for the error! It'll be a gen3 that I want ideally, although I think there were only 200 produced in 2006. I thought long and hard about the one recently for sale in Essex, but the timing was too soon.

Does anyone know that car? The interior looked like it had been messed with (the centre dash panel had been changed to blue), and I thought they all had blue trim on the steering wheel and handbrake, but that one didn't.

x424 blue coupes were made in 2006, x200 were labelled 'first editions' with blue accents

Hi James, your Viper is now advertised twice! BTW do you know the whereabouts of the 2 blue SRT10 coupes in your customers gallery? Are they still in the UK? One of the registrations doesn't exist anymore so I guess it's maybe got a private plate or it's been exported. One of my Mustangs is on your customers gallery (pictured with the plate '8 CAR')I think it was one of the first 2005 convertibles in the UK, it has all the options including red leather and shaker1000. I've had the car 3 years and have made a lot of changes from when it was new.

The 8 Car mustang was certainly one of the earlier ones that we brought in and was sold to a chap with the surname CARR ! He rarely drove it and it was a weekend car , garaged kept if i remember correctly. Glad to see you have done plenty to your looks in great shape still !

Thanks 'Viper' for clearing that up and giving useful info on production figures, although the number of UK SRT 10 coupes is now seeming less than I hoped, but that is the model I'm hoping for so will have to be patient. I have just ordered a Viper DVD (an updated version of my old VHS) and am looking at buying a decent book or two to gain more knowledge on Vipers as i've got lots to learn. I see 2nd hand buyers guides are well over £200 on Amazon, so I'll take a rain check on that for now!!!!!

James, I bought the Mustang 3 years ago with 19k miles. I am the 3rd owner and it now has 35k miles, with no issues so far.

Just picked up a 2002 gts final edition in Texas, should arrive here in about 4 weeks. Plan on selling the gt500 and making room for something with a different horse logo wink
