Advice - selling to Europe
Discussion
Hi guys,
I wonder if anyone knew of or had any experience selling used cars into Europe?
My 06 SRT is for sale 4000 miles, but I havent had much luck selling it into the UK so far I guess because they are for a very specialised market. I dont want to give it away, so I thought id try Europe where the market is stronger - but dont know where to start.
Would appreciate it if anyone had any contacts and could point me in their direction.
Thanks!

Hi,
Sold mine to France via the French Viper Forum where i was a member. I do speak French , that was a help.
Now my SRT was a UK model so no tax for them. Just the V5 to pay for them.
One other problem was the lights that were UK model. No modification possible on the SRT. I think the buyer had a friendly MOT guy if not would have cost few thousands
Straight forward sale. He came with his wife, stayed at mine, saw the car, transfer made by Chaps, V5 paper given to him and contract of sale, letter to the DVLA saying car was sold and bye, bye.
Eduardo.

It maybe worth trying to sell your car again in the UK as well as Europe. I think the timing of the original advert was unfortunate, as there was another 06 SRT10 coupe for sale in Essex. I realise the Essex car was much higher mileage (30k) than yours and looked to have been 'modded' slightly, but anyone in the market for a blue/white viper would surely have looked at that one first as it was on the mainland and was cheaper.
When I was looking for a Mustang covertible 3 years ago, I was in touch with a guy from Jersey who was selling a 2007 GT with only 4000 miles on, but in the end I was put off by a combination of import duty, inconvenience of travelling, and it was an auto, whereas I prefer manual.
P.S. I've only got 4 years left on the mortgage, and then I will be actively persuing an 06+ SRT coupe if you can wait a while, or I've got 2 Mustangs I could p/ex !!!!!!!

having owned an 06 coupe several years ago i did look at your original advert (£45 plus taxes?) and thought by the time the UK taxes were added, it would make more sense to import a gen4 direct from the states. Not really much more hassle.
We paid for £40K for our '06 from a UK dealer, similiar miles, and 4 years old at the time
