Ignition Leads
Discussion
Car has now been serviced by Motorway Sports, but they couldn't do the ignition leads as they could not source them in time.
So I need to get them and fit them myself. I remember Nigel having a problem with incorrect lead lengths when he fitted them at the BBQ?
Where should I get them from and how much?

viper paul said:Sure was - Si was competing in the final 2 rounds of the Eurocup - came 4th & 8th which was sufficient to come overall 3rd in the 2004 championship. Who spotted?
Larry were you at Brands last Sunday?
Blue white Viper spotted and brother racing?????
Stopped there on the way back from Motorway Sports then gave my 7 year old nephew a lift back home in the Dodge after the days racing. At the Dartford tolls, gave him a £1 to drop in teh machine which he promptly dropped on the floor - que me crawling round on my hands and knees looking for the pound whilst the queue builds up behind me - so embarrasing!
I've spoken to Chuck Tator and he confirms that the Gen I and Gen II leads are different. A full set for my RT/10 is about $110 but Chuck has saved me the tax by sending 'commercial samples'.
Total cost is about $100. They are currently on their way - I'll let you know when they arrive if they fit. And then I can give Steve K back the Gen II set.

Chuck Tators Gen I wires are exactly the same as the factory fitted versions including Viper logo and lead number. Part number for future reference is #4638758.
Not the easiest of things to fit. I recommend you take off the wiper blades, disconnect the washer hose and then remove the cowling between windscreen and engine (4 screws). Take each lead off separately to avoid confusion. You need thin arms to get behind the engine block and reach the coil packs (especially the one on the passengers side). I lifted some of the water hoses out of the way first but I guarantee you will end up with sore, bruised and scratched arms - unless you get someone else to do it. Took me about 2 hours in total but she does run better as a result.
Nigel.
