I have just faxed off an order to DCUK for an RT10...

for our showroom. They are bringing in 10 cars to re-launch the Dodge brand to the UK, decided on red in the end, can't wait for it to arrive now.

Believe it or not the UK price has not been finalised yet, I guess it wil be close to the $ price with a £ in front of it. The car cannot be sold as a Viper in the UK due to a dispute over name ownership.

why would anyone pay £63K when you can get them in the US for $70/£40K (plus taxes) with only a few miles on them.

80 is the price that I've read about in quite a few mags, sounds right when you think the original UK vipers was £68K back in 1997. Although I think they will be hard to sell in the UK.

having seen more than you can shake a stick at (whatever that means) as a soft top the lines just aren't as bold and aggresive as the gen2 in my opinion, they certainly handle and brake espicially a lot better than the 'old' viper. Hopefully the coupe version will turn out better, and watch the current SRT market crumble before you eyes !

Cancelled mine with DC dealer they quoted me 78K in UK pounds and that included the hideous fog lights mounted to the boot lid and no side exhausts.

And the best bit, we are not allowed to register or badge it Viper.

Not for me thanks, If I buy one it will be from the US or Europe.

Yes, have worked for one since 1997, we have ordered the SRT in to use as a showroom traffic builder. If someone decides to take the plunge & buy it then great. If not it would always make a nice demo!

What does this mean? Vipers don't have the word "Viper" on them in the UK? You can't put a "Viper" badge on the car?

I don't understand.

the name 'viper' is owned by a kit car company that registered it in the UK some 20 odd years ago, long before Dodge came out with the RT in 92. Chrysler tried
to get the name off them but failed, so now all UK SRT's will be badged 'DODGE SRT/10' they aren't allowed to use the word viper anywhere...sad ain't it.

I'm sure if you brought a badge from the USA and just stuck it on there wouldnt be a problem, I mean what could they do ?

The plate orignally appeared on Nads viper before she aqquired the car, it then got moved around by Chrysler onto other vipers before gifting it onto the Steel, a couple of weeks after the purchase it ended up going full circle and finishing up back on Nad's blue/white

on Phil's car

on the steel at Whitehouse, day of collection
