After 7 months I can finally get at my Gen1, so I am looking to start it up in the next couple of weeks.woohoo

Car has been garaged and on a trickle charger.

Apart from checking fluids, hoses etc anything I should be looking for or concerned about?

Thanks

Severe amounts of adrenaline and a distinct keenness to push the pedal to the right too hard for the conditions? It was sunny this weekend here so I 'may' be speaking from experience after having the cars shut away for months...

read a few things on the vca about checking for mice nests in the V under the intake and around the headers. Doubt a mouse nest would be good when heated to a couple hundred degrees by the exhaust

Maybe worth pulling the fuel pump relay to get the oil pressure up before starting.....

Brakes can sometimes be a problem especially if they were damp when garaged.

Hi Kev,

As Dr Bob says pull the fuel relay and get the engine turning to build oil pressure, handbrake cable might also get locked on as well as the brakes. Check clutch fluid as well. When you put the fuel relay back in prime by turning the key on and off three or four times then you should be good to go. Check the tyres for flat spots if you didn't pump them up to 40 psi before storing - if you did then don't forget to drop the pressure back down.

My 93 had been without a battery since June 2011 when I went to Le Mans. Put a new one in a month ago, primed the engine and it fired first time - didn't even have to worry about the alarm setting. They truly are wonderful beasts!

Enjoy
