Just an FYI if anyone out there is looking to replace rear pads soon, I have just done this as they were an advisory on the last MOT despite still having another 5mm or equal to another 10 years life left in them. I couldn't stomach the $$$ for OEM so opted for EBC. But when they arrived they were in a box marked for Renault laguna and various other models. Well they were an exact match and fitted fine but i could have saved another £30 and just got some laguna ones.

It looks like the pads for a 96 3L petrol Laguna are the same.

PS if anyone knows where i can get slide pin rubbers boots for a laguna, I'm in need for one of those also.

PPS good chance Gen 1 are the same, not sure about the ABS ones though but maybe.

Email me a photo of the busted bit and there's a chance I'll have a spare.

If you have a spare pad, you could take it to your local motor factors, they have brake catalog's with actual size templates in them. Simply lay the pad against the template to match up smile But pad material is a whole different ball game wink Euro car parts are pretty good. You can also get serpentine belts there too smile

Not my local one, they are one of the biggest in the SE and are fking useless. They have a huge warehouse but seemingly nothing in stock and no willingness to get the books out, not even plug in to the computer "Renault laguna" this time to find brake service parts, just suggested i chop up a grommet from one of those blister packs.

When i was IVAing the ACR i asked them for a fog light switch, didn't tell them what for or have any model specifics, just a small round fog light switch as fitted to many a car, response = nah mate, we just got whats in the packs on the stand over there, all this while standing in front of the huge warehouse that supplies a lot of the SE independent garages.

Why can the US support an autozone, napa, advance auto parts, o'reilly and a whole host of more out of the way delco counters and dealerships on every street corner and we cant get one fking distributor to look up a service kit for a Renault or find a fog light switch. I swear if i had told them the 3" exhaust tube i brought from them was for a viper then they would have told me it wouldn't fit, as it was they had to order it in lol.

/rant over lol

Wow, the guys in my local one at Redhill are really helpful! I guess its all down to the guys serving? As soon as I show them a pic of the car most of them go out of their way to help me!

Anyway, I just got wet walking to the postbox wink

That's the sort of service i get in napa and advance, the guy at suncoast dodge FL spent ages trying to identify a bolt on the ACR for me.

I blame halfords anyway, put all the good ones (except marks) out of business then decided there was more profit in tents and bikes.

Thanks Mark
