I was recovered by a very very nice man from the AA biggrin

Then got home and found the rest of the Family had gone out and had left a key in the door inside the lock and I could not use my key to get into the bloody house banghead Ended up having to break in!

Bummer, is it just the UJ strap or the whole joint? Any other damage?

Hmm, my lap top has packed up, my main computer in my office has also packed up so I am using a small tablet to post things at the moment frown

OK I've just removed the half shaft, there is damage to the coupling on the rear axel
There should be two tabs either end of coupling housing to stop any slippage. One of these has sheared off!

Next there is damage to the half shaft it's self, the ends where the circlips hold the UJ have been smashed and distorted and finally the UJ it's self is smashed in half!

I have taken lots of pics but don't know how to load them onto a tablet frown

Ouch, was it a big bang? I was asking about the straps as i had a few left over from when i had my diff out, save you buying a complete kit if you only needed one or two, but it sounds a tad more extensive than that, sorry.

Ok, ok, yes the nice yellow truck did get me home. smile

What I'm concerned about is not so much the half shafts but the damage to the half shaft coupling where it comes out the sdie of the rear diff!
