Having just got back from lake Garda I have to say a tour around the lake would be brilliant, You would need some serious ear protection the Tunnels around the lake edge are FANTASTIC but one or two are a bit narrow and run a traffic light system which is not to be ignored as an artic lorry driver found out when we met him head on in our Coach! He had to reverse out of the tunnel some 200 meters, with motorcycles and cars behind him....Nightmare!
There are also two ferry crossings across the lake for cars, I enquired as to how much it would cost to get a car from one side to the other.....'What car do you have Sir?' ...'Erm a Dodge Viper' ...'I can't find that on my list, do you have an idea of the length Sir, ....'Yes and I can show you a picture on my Ipod'...
After showing the guy a picture of the car he called over some other members of staff, needless to say they all got very excited As for the cost, 18.00 euros each way Which is not bad at all
Sounds good Ade, would need to sort out true costings of the tip

Thanks Mark - costings for the car club event bit at Balocco and hotels etc at Lake Garda have already been drafted details to follow. This post is just an appetizer to see who might be interested in such an event if there's enough support.
A more detailed itinerary needs working on for travel arrangements to making it more of a touring holiday and not just a weekend track day experience. This part will need some work so any ideas greatfully received - there are some fantastic parts of central Europe between the UK and NW Italy so planning a route with attractions long the way shouldn't be that hard.

Who'd be interested in a touring holiday July next year, down through central Europe then on to meet the Swiss Viper club at the Balocco test grounds in North West Italy. R&R to follow at Lake Garda?
We've got a group of 5 or 6 cars (not Vipers) that are looking to do something similar next summer but we haven't discussed when yet. A tour through the Alps and then Italian Lakes stopping for a few days at a nice hotel in Garda I know.Edited by MADMAX-UK on Monday 20th August 06:30
I've seen the post on Petrolhead Nirvana about this and am off on the US tour with them soon, I'll have a word with Pete and Bachi for ideas.
Have you got many cars lined up?
