How well do Vipers handle mileage, are they good for 50,000miles, 100,000 e.g. and what are the service intervals?
How much should I expect to pay for a mint 97/98 low mileage car, and asses my chances of finding one.
thx

Dont know anyone who has done 50K miles in the UK, there are some examples in US who have hit the 100K mark, haven't heard of any major problems.

Service intervals without looking in the book are around 6K, just oil/filter changes, greasing ball joints etc with more major services every 12K miles

I'd say a decent low mileage 97/98 would be around £37K
although I did see a black 2000 for 37 somewhere recently

As a Chrysler main dealer we haven't seen any problems with Vipers apart from the recalls...Not that we see too many...Generally the engines are never stressed as they are so powerfull it would be difficult to wring its neck everywhere you go.Revving the nuts out of one doesn't really achieve much.

As far as values go, if your talking low mileage as in 5000 ish then I would expect upto £45000 and a pretty sound long term investment at that..Service history and owners all important too.

I have just got hold of an excellent one, with 6,000 miles on clock - '97 GTS. I try and keep the price btwn me and my bank manager, so that me missus cant see what i am doing.

They do seem to have the qualities for maybe appreciating at some point in their lifecycle.

Though not as yet, I am looking for where I should get its anual service and general looking after..any suggestions.

Mine passed 50k on Sunday as I was doing 150 at Bruntingthorpe, bouncing off tyres and cutting the grass.

Apart from that, ABSOLUTLY NO PROBLEMO'S with it.
