I'd put money on a new one of them being expensive but you could try the Wizard.

Or get a used one.

Is it busted beyond repair?

You meant to be at a track day tomorrow?????

Busted beyond repair frown

It's about 50 usd in the states and seems to be a shared part so will call Chrysler uk tomorrow.
Still hoping that somebody might have one around as well.

Really upset about the track day tomorrow, had the new tyres installed, track alignment done and would have been the first one with the big brakes and the new springs......plus left my other track toy (the zm coupe) with my brother......ahhh whatever, will take the mustang...

Tank ordered and shall be with me on Thursday. Many thanks to Paul at Myltons Chrysler Jeep in Bedford - he was the only guy who agreed to order it next day for me and then even to courier it to London. Called him first and then I popped in after the trackday today and he sorted me out. Tried three other Chrysler dealerships in London on the phone and they didn't even want to order it for pick up or were quoting 2 weeks delivery time, what a bunch on clowns...

So hopefully will be back on the road by the weekend....need to clean her up and do a nice photoshoot with the wheels, springs etc.

Nothing really to be proud of frown was giving it some beans on Sunday late afternoon in the traffic light grand prix in the hot weather. Being a bit paranoid I always keep an eye on the temp gauge but all good - fan working properly and keeping the engine cool. All of a sudden the needle goes straight to the right withing 20 seconds, I pull over, leave the engine running so the water pump keeps circulating the coolant, open the hood and see a bit of steam already coming from the pressure cap, next thing I notice the fan is not working, rush to turn on the AC as this shall override the fan relay and this saved me as I was leaning over the door behind the windscreen. BAAANG the pressure tank explodes and plenty of hot coolant splashes onto the windscreen, some drops made it over but not enough to burn me. Well, switched off the engine and waited 3.5 hours for the AA to come and recover me (all happened 800m away from home).

A bit unlucky really - the fan relay has died as the fan has been running for a while (I urge you to check yours as it seems to be a very common problem on the viperalley) and also the pressure cap didn't work and didn't release the pressure.

The engine started later without hesitation as I had to drive the car 2m into the garage, also everything happened so quickly that I doubt (hope) there will be any damage. In the worst case will have to take the heads off but that was on the menu for the autumn/winter anyway as I was planning to port them and put bigger valves, roller rockers and headers.

Now looking for some heavy duty relays (50a or 60a),and while waiting for the new tank I removed the red plastic part under the relays and also ran an override toggle switch into the cockpit. If you are interested you tap either pin 2 (fan low speed) or pin 21 (fan high speed) on the very right connector of the PCM (drivers side under the metal cover)
