CCW classics and Kumho V70 - there is something weird

I had hoosier A6 (315 and 335) on the CCW's and they were perfect flush fit. However I sold them and yesterday put Kumho V70 305 and 335 and they seem to fit in a weird way. Any idea if their sidewalls are really so much narrower or they just don't have a protection lip? On the pics the tyres are fully inflated

Are those 18" wheels? if so please let me know how you get on with those tyres, I'm looking for a couple of extra rears for my car, they dont seem to last long
