Steve has an invite 8th August, to what i'm not sure but think its a give rides day. These are all the details I have but Steve will know more as he went last year.
a big list of companies sponsor the day ASDA, Mercedes, MG rover etc, bringing their empoyees (about 7000 of them) and what ever pull they have with motors, bike and trucks. You get to thrash around the track with a passenger no doubt. Gates open at 8am,
briefing for cars at 9.15am, cars out at 9.45am for one hour. Then times again for cars one hour slot
11.20, 13.50, 15.35 in between bikes and trucks are on cicuit, with sweepers cleaning up loose tarmac/gravel in between each session
not sure on noise limits, anyone interested email me and i'll give you the organisers email address

Quite a few cars stay in the paddock and don't go out at all. If you choose to go out you can stay out for as many laps as you want, or come straight back in after one. The track is set up so you do one lap and then return to the picking up / dropping off point, you have to stop here every lap you can't just stay out circulating. There is a queue of passengers waiting to be taken for a spin so it would be hard to pick and choose who you take, but you do get a chance to take a passenger with you as you leave the paddock and they would get a free ride on the 'out' lap while you drive round to pick up your first passenger.

Hi V8S Would be intersted to know more re this event please:
Are Helmets required?
Aprox how long is the course, and is it just an oval or hopefully with twisty bits / turns?
Is there a chance to run on the 2 mile stretch?
See you there. Thanks.
Last year, helmets were not required, the course was a loop consisting of a one mile straight and a return that has half a dozen corners on it. They used a longer circuit that took in the whole 2 mile straight for the first couple of sessions, but this was boring because it missed out all the interesting corners and there is only so long you want to sit on the rev limiter in top gear - later in the day they used the far end of the runway for trucks and the cars and bikes used the shorter 1 mile section.
