To be honest, i'm board with it all now, If that Hot Wheels toy was anything to go by, Im not sure I like it. The Voodoo design was radical and mean looking. Im only just getting used to the Gen4 design. Its slowly beginning to grow on me. But I prefer my Gen2 interior dash and clocks. Unless I win the Lottery, there's no way I could afford one, so I will just carry on owning my Gen2.

Still it would be a boring world if we all liked the same thing! No doubt Clarkson will get his hands on one at some point, then start prodding and poking it saying its made of plastic. It looks like they have dropped the window pillar off the doors? Shame, I liked the Gen2 door. If they get back into racing and the Le Mans series (without being heavily restricted) Im sure I will be able to build up my enthusiasm again but at the moment I think SRT missed the boat. frown

I'm looking forward to seeing some proper pics & specs.
I'll definitely not be in the market for a new one though.

Not bad, looks like someone left a GTS and SRT10 in a dark room together with some moody music and this is the result. Going to be expensive with Ferrari seats and loads of carbon fibre, I'll take the alms version though.

the ACR version is being launched at the same time in that there is the SRT Viper GTS which is the girlie one with leather and electric stuff and the SRT Viper is the hardcore version.

I don't think that is the ACR version.

Today we saw the GTS to take on corvette and the SRT viper to keep the viper nation happy. We saw two coupes launched and no mention of the the ACR name, they are keeping that stored up. The presence of the halfords wing on the ALMS car tells me there is not the ACR down-force coming from the basic body, I can see the new tyres, weight saving and 50% stiffer chassis getting the gen 5 close to ACR times but i don't see a round of new lap records coming, (probably why they set the new one before the gen 5 was released) Apart from anything else they would not have had time to design what is needed for an ACR whilst putting out the basic coupe. My thoughts are we will see a rag top next year and the ACR the year after which will build on the non GTS car which i see as the one foot in the past for the viper die hards and the building block for the ACR which would be too big a step from the GTS version to do it properly.

The lap records aren't going to fall in a way Chrysler care about (ie to a vette) until the end of those time scales. I see vette taking them with the C7 ZR1 (or equivalent) and then the viper ACR taking them back at the end of 2014-15

Best Viper news since June 2003.........the last time Viper raced at Le Mans...........Viper so badly needed a race programme for this new SRT, and it got one thumbup It's going to be a joy to watch them racing at LEMans again, just like old times hehe I can even feel Baz's excitemnent about that in sunny Wales! hehe

VIPER + LEMANS = cloud9

I just hope the Vett's stay on at Lemans as the Vipers bowed out of racing just as the Vett's found racing form, so a head to head of these GT Giants will be inspiring to watch, it was always such a let down when Dodge pulled the plug on the original Comp Coupe in 2001, it seemed like the next generation of race Viper was such a lost opportunity, its been a long wait for race fans of Viper but I'm sure it'll be worth it...........it could even inspire me to buy anotheryes..............wifenono.............. shootwife.........wifeangel.........me and new viper cloud9......................but it could end injudgecop..........:cry but it was a crime of passion officer!
Almost forgot to say.....I think the new VIPER SRT look fantastic!!!cloud9
