Hi to all smile

Hope you might help please.

My 05 SRT 10 car went to france and the new owner is asking me if there is a way to change the direction of the Xenon headlights from left to right without changing the full system.

They could change the hight of the beams with a computer but don't know how to change from the UK set up (left to right direction)

My car was a UK car.

Thanks for your help.

Eduardo.

From memory there is no left or right dip as is the case with most US cars the lights simply point forward so to convert it to l/h drive you simply revers the lights, ie the kerbside light is cranked in and the offside cranked out.

That works on my Ram and from memory that's how the SRT lights worked.

Hello Viper Paul.

Could you please explain what you mean by reverse the lights. Do you mean change the bulbs around. Replace a socket around ?

The new owner been quoted 4000 euros per side for a new CE headlights. Need to find a way around that frown

Thanks.

Eduardo.

I've got the SRT service manual in front of me and it says that 'the headlamps can be adjusted vertically only'. Sorry.

Given stock US lights are a flat beam and acceptable in the UK i doubt very much that dodge would have put something else in there although they may have buggered about a bit due to the HID's but i think there was an early version of gen 3 lights with regular bulbs so they probably used them

what beam patten are they getting?

if its the first one then they are standard viper lights designed for driving on the right and have a flat beam tolerated in the UK on the left.

The second one is more like what is on the GTS after you make the adjustment, all it does is tip the flat beam up on the left and down on the right. you cant do this on a gen 3 so they should have the patten 1 unless someone has butchered the lights previous.

As the service manuals have said there is no left right adjustment only up down. if you need to move the beam centre point left and right the only way to do this is to loosen the three bolts holding the entire lamp enclosure to the frame and adjust the whole thing making the best of panel gaps between bumper hood etc and desired light direction.

Are you sure they are not trying to adjust out the UK in the lights that was never there in the first place, after all 99% of vipers are driven on the right and the UK doesn't care about the US flat beam lights anymore.

Doubt it, that just looks like a HID conversion from standard halogen lights. Did your have HID's or Halogen? What is the exact problem they are having? i'm a bit unsure when you say they adjusted the lights with the computer as there is no computer control on a viper headlight or do they mean they are testing it with a computer controlled beam patten checker machine thingymabob?

Simple the offside light is cranked, moved up and the kerbside is cranked down giving the opposite dip to the UK.

From memory the lights are e marked already as the fogs are used for day time running lights.
