Just found these on ebay... Starting bid of £15.00

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dodge-Viper-bonnet-upper...

I have absolutely no idea if they are any of any use to anyone, but you never know...

At that price it's almost worth buying and having a pop at making one of those Diamondback hoods I keep seeing on the VCA site... scratchchin

On the other hand I may be being a little optimistic about the simplicities of doing that kind of thing... silly

I wonder why they have those molds? Wonder if they have any other molds? Argh - too many questions!

just make sure they arent the moulds from the kit car company that closed down a while ago

else you may have a few alignment issues smile

Certainly looks like a Viper, not replica.

BUT

I think you may find that it is an actual copy bonnet not the mould

you are right, sounds like a good idea. let me know if you get them and need a hand with the carbon hoods - no experience there but always wanted to give it a go and should be fun...

Just my 10 cents again but the company Rawson who made the original hard top for DC also made the bonnet for the modified RT/10 and the front fashia as well as the rear defuser, all are pretty ugly but could be those have popped up again.

Just a comment so you're not disappointed, as not sure people realise what they are looking at, if you've not worked with moulds before you wouldn't, so don't take offence. But, as Colin has already said that doesn't look like a mould, as its gel coat finish on the outside, a mould needs that smooth finish on the inside of the hood, so that you lay up against it and get the smooth finish top side of the part you are making. Carbon is quite tricky to work with to get a good finish, and you need to vac-bag it or you wont really save much weight over fibreglass.
