Unfortunately, as far as I am aware, there is only one of those in the UK, and that one has side exit exhausts, canards on the front, and R888's on the wheels... as does the one in those pics... frown

Hope you're alright Pete!

....well, finding another 30,000mile, red 2002 for sale, anywhere, took a while! needed their advert info to convince Aviva of the value....and they were quickly convinced after that. 16,000 miles in 4years of fun it has been - an end of a chapter i hope, not the book. I'm sad it went this way, especially that one - are all Gen 2s that bullet proof?! Some time off and the yearning will return. Thanks for your concerns chaps ;-)

ps. shocked to find it went from Aviva's salvage middle-man, Bluecycle, for under £3500 it seems:

hmm do you know if the frame is bent or only damage to the body panels? I know somebody who has all the parts needed in case the frame is ok and might be a good winter project smile

The chassis is badly damaged (I inspected it) it can be repaired, but to do it right you would need to weld on properly in a jig, a replacement front frame half at the bulkhead / trans-tunnel / sill points. If you've ever looked at the lower front frame rails of Gen2 / 3 / 4 Vipers you will see holes in their box section, those are crash-safety crumple-zones and they do their job well. I just hope someone doesn't think of trying to just pull them out straight and plate to do a repair!
