Well as a potential purchaser I'm always reading but not saying much!
Come on then, let the cat out the bag, what Gen Viper do you fancy?Unfortunately, my M400 is without doubt a car I'll regret selling having done it once before with my previous Noble!
Yes the M400 is a great car, In all honestly the Viper is not really suited for narrow English country lanes (But I do give it a good go) But on the wider roads it really comes into its own They DO go round corners very well, (unless you enter Gambon corner with too much speed)
That Red Stickered up GTS-R replica Viper you have seen at Dunton is mine
The Young lady who was driving the Daytona Coupe is Nadine, she has also got one or two other Vipers, but being as the day was at the Ford test track she bought along the Daytona coupe for historic purposes
If you fancy a ride out in mine sometime, Let me know, then you can make up your mind weather you fancy one or not
Mine is a 2000 GTS, so no ABS, Traction control or any other driver aids, just a bloody great V10 engine and a steering wheel and a brake pedal
The 2001 models onwards came with ABS
Ive had my car over 3 years now and the only downside to ownership I have found is the cost of Tyres! The rear tyres on my car are 335/30, 18s You need to allow over a Grand for a new set!

Aagh makes sense now! I think I met you and Nadine at the petrol station last year after Dunton.I seem to remember you have some arty pix of mine through your door mirror! That Red Stickered up GTS-R replica Viper you have seen at Dunton is mine

I take it, it was your car there this year as well?
Thanks for the offer of a ride, did try at teh end thsi year but there was only me, Harsh in the Atom and the Mc12-4 left!
Yes.....seems a common mistake....GTS/R or GT2. But I think most Viper owners know that a GT2 has no more connection with the Race GTS/R's than a basic GTS. Whilst it is a rare special edition of 100 it just comes with a few interior trim changes, body kit trim and only available in white. But you will have to pay double the price of a Gen2 GTS for one..........if you can find one that is
To keep the yawning from the door on thsi thread, does anyone have any info on the two black Vipers in the classifieds, one is a 2003 at Bauer and the other a 2005 at Driven Image which assume is a SOR car as it was for sale on here privately some time ago? It mentions seat lowering kit etc,as I'm 6'3 I'd imagine it's something I'll need. What sort of things should I be looking for/avoiding etc.Exhaust options, someone to look after it in the Essex area (or adjoining counties) and real world experiences.
Should give us a bit to talk about as there were complaints of it being quiet on here!

Have to say Personally, I dont know anything about those cars, but Viper Paul might know something?
Clive 'ACR MAN' Is in Essex, Im not sure who Clive uses for servicing issues? Our main Tech is Dr Bob (Barry) who services members cars and fiddles with bits and bobs, Baz is based in Luton but a lot of people use him, he works on members cars as a side line to his main Job, so your not paying top garage rates Barry is also a very good friend of Chuck Tator of 'Tators Garage' NY. So if Barry gets stuck on something Chuck is always at the end of the phone
There is a wicki on the viper page about general servicing, fluids etc. Most of the time its fairly straight forward stuff.
So back to your question about those two cars, its worth dropping Paul or Madmax Ade a PM to see what they can dig up. You must get a Carfax done on the cars, if you are not sure what a Carfax is its basically a history check like an HPI check but much more detailed and gives you history of the car before it came into the UK. Don't EVER buy a Viper without one
Cheers Mark.
