Hi,

A while ago I owned a ’97 GTS. It was terrific car but in our narrow country lanes the LHD 6’6” width was a problem. I have recently seen an ad for a right-handed car converted in Australia and I wonder if anyone has any information about this rare variant.

If you get it for 10p then go for it.....

There is a 2002 FE red GTS that was also converted to RHD in OZ .. It was crashed by a Chrysler manager that worked in the UK HQ but was fully rebuilt with a new frame.. Was also for sale not long ago in cambridge....

People keep asking why I don't post photo's of my car, and this is the reason. Everybody has their own taste. People like John, Nad, me....who have the ability to bring a accident damaged car back to life, whether it is in stock format or modified just get slated.

I agree it's nice that there is a club that can advise of the history of damaged cars, especially if the seller is trying to hide it. But what someone wants to do to there own car is there own choice. I have made many changes to mine and I'm sure there will be many who slate me for it, but i am building it for me.

When I finally get it finished I will be bringing it down to meets, then you can all slag me. Just remember not everybody likes the changes you may have made to your car. They just don't go around slagging it off

I concur! And putting the effort into getting such a car back on the road really 'bonds' you with it, gives it a 'soul' and stamps your personal touch to it. Plus when it kicks ass on the strip or on the track it is quite rewarding! wink

Totaly agree on the personal taste side, some may not like mine but OH well.......

As for the orange one..
The body work side looked good the inside was a little ott for me.. and when you look at Rogers website he has some stunning mint original classic cars, So would think maybe OE original for him...

It,s got Jaguar switch gear and dials (seats?) so I might be to your taste as I see from your web site you have a passion for the marque. You kinda get the best of both worlds , Jag XJ interior Viper exterior and power. (To anyone thinking what I think their thinking..I'm trying to be postive Ok!spin)

maybe but you dont know the complete story, it went from being a lovely brand
new RT, converted to RHD in Australia

literally just a few weeks later..stolen and set on fire...

yes thats the interior ! you can see the seat frame, window screen surround and gear knob

then John got his hands on it saved it from being broken, brought a roof section in from the US and converted it to a GTS, cant imagine how many hours went into
getting back on the road

Thank you so much for the pics. I have to say the car looks pretty good from the outside. If it can be bought cheaply enough, I wonder if the interior can be improved.

At fear of being stoned to death by the cognoscenti I have to say, I rather like it. The idea of a right handed version appeals. I’ll go on the internet, find some pictures of the real thing and compare.

Thank you also for the nice comments about my website. Glad you like the motors. How about the latest acquisition - the Auburn.

I recall John saying the Aus (http://www.viperformance.com.au)
RHD interior parts were hugely expensive and way out of his budget
