Hi all, posting in a new section for me so be gentle!

I'm currently living in Dubai and have been on the look out for a 2 seat sports car for a while now.
I had all but decided on a Corvette... (sorry!) but whilst looking around at the weekend I came across this beauty:

http://sharjah.dubizzle.com/classified/autos4x4s/d...gte=&seller_type=&is_search=1&kilometers__gte=&price__gte=&year__gte=&year__lte=2011&kilometers__lte=&keywords=&is_basic_search_widget=0&pricelte=

Now I know pretty much nothing about Vipers, but the looks and the noise of this car has all but cast out thoughts of a 'Vette.

Over to you lot in the know, what can you tell me about what I'm looking at... anything specific to watch for etc etc.

Thanks

I have a Gen 2 Viper so I am not too good on the later models, but there are a few things you can check out before you commit to anything.

Link to Viper Club of America
http://forums.viperclub.org/
Great information on our cars here wink
Also has a classified section.

For parts we now have our club parts supplier
https://www.viperpartsofamerica.com/
Also Tators Garage for great advice and parts smile
http://www.tatorsdodge.com/

You must get a Carfax done on the car, its not foolproof but it will give you added history on the car wink
HPI Checks are only good for a car that has been in the UK the whole of its life wink This info would also be the same if you were to go the Corvette Route wink
www.carfax.eu and also www.carfax.com

You can find build information and Vin Identification here smile
http://www.theviperregistry.org/build.php

Im sure some of the other chaps will be along shortly to give you some more advice smile But What I can say is YOU WILL LOVE IT biggrin
Oh one more thing, Tyres. Dodge fitted these cars with Run Flat Tyres, many owners say they are rubbish and grip is not fantastic, so you may want to Budget for new tyres in your Quest for a Viper, they are not cheap, that,s the only downside of ownership I can think of biggrin

Great advice from Mark but if you can get someone to check it over or even test drive it for you the better..

Carfax,HPI or any like that are only good if an accident has been reported.. there are some bad cars out there "BUT" there are some great cars and trustworthy people out there as well....

Meant to update this ages ago.

I didn't buy the car as the Carfax check revealed that it was a US write off, bought at a salvage auction and then shipped here and repaired cheaply... shame really but I'm damn glad I checked it out.

Thanks for all the advice fellas

Well there you go, at least you did not put your hard earned monies into something and THEN find out it was bad wink Glad we could help you smile
For the record, if you still have the Vin Number of the Car and a few details, it would be great if you could forward the information to our UK Viper club president, via a PM please contact 'MADMAX UK'
The club likes to try and keep track on suspect cars to inform people like yourself of any potential problems (if asked) smile

There are some UK Club cars up for sale if your still interested wink

Unfortunately I'm in Dubai and there was nothing else available so I went down the Corvette route in the end.... next time!
