Oh No Not Again ! ! !
Discussion
Well it's happened to me again I must be the unluckiest guy alive when it comes to alloys if I don’t run over some thing at high speed and trash a wheel, I run foul of some Grand Canyon scale hole in the road or a deviously placed piece of curb. (Nottingham Gatso Capital of the UK)
.
Yep you guessed it the curb stuck back,
Anyone had any experience with alloy scuff repairs for the Viper, I spoke to a few guys today but as soon as you mention that the wheels are polished and lacquered all you get is lots of sucking of teeth and tut tutting .
Seems there all pretty good at grinding the offending bit down and sticking a bit of filler in to make up the level, that's fine if your gona paint it, but I don't want to.
So if anyone knows a Viper friendly wheel restorer please give me a shout.
By the way I was asked are the wheels Alloy or Magnesium?

Depends on the damage, I have curbed two rims, abet not at high speed but when forced to curb park.
I normally fix em myself, mask up the wheel with either gaffer tape or several layers of masking tape.
Then using wet and dry 180 at first going to 600 grit polish the rim.
When finished use either clear laquer in a spray or leave natural and wax.
Can only just see where mine were rubbed.
I even used a power sander on one occasion but remmebr mask the wheel, or you will slip.
Hope this lets you sort it and good luck.
