I went along on Saturday, nice drive out for the GTS which hasn't seen much use this year for some reason... Chris was there with his Hemi Viper which ran a 7.8 which was only beaten by the flipping ridiculous jet car (although I didn't see all the other cars runs). I've not seen that Jet car before and I really can't describe it other than the closest experience to it was seeing the Eurofighter at Dunsfold hovering and then pulling up vertically. There are some pictures (quite a few...) here and some video here here. Video is misbehaving but more should be on their way including all of the jet car run (except the time which was 5.9 at 278mph).

I'll almost certainly be back for one day next year as it was so good to see the cars being used rather than parked up!

Oh, and no Neil, I didn't run mine - thats my investment vehicle smile

ive seen the jet car run quite a few times at the pod and avon park, though im hoping to see the top fuel dragsters run soon, they make the jet car look slow wink
cracking 300mph !

Last time i went to the Mopar Nats, Fishy blew up his clutch on the first run in the yellow thing, doh !

What have you got planned for top fuel Neil? Would love to see and feel some TF drag racing, haven't seen any for quite some time and Marianne has never seen them. Sadly we wont be here for the FIA euro finals but if you have seen something else then we may be up for it.

youve more chance of seeing them in the US smile and they will be 'proper quick' out there

yeah and even then last time i went they were thin on the ground and many didn't do a full run. But then that was fire and thunder and it made silverstone GT feel tropical.

doesn't look like they are running anywhere in the us that i can get to on this trip either

Dave, if you really want to see Top Fuel cars running at full pelt, without doubt the best place is the USA. See if you can slide in an evening at a Drag racing meet next time you're on Vacation wink Top fuel cars racing at late evening is outstanding.

Sadly Santa pod gets hit with too much bad weather and many of the European Top fuel teams are on a very tight budget. Ive been a few times only to end up seeing cars driving up and down a damp track trying to dry it out, and then seeing about 4 cars run frown
