Hi all,

I came across this gorgeous gen1 whilst browsing - I must admit I've never looked into viper ownership so whilst I go away and do my homework could anyone who is familiar with this car let me know its history?

Interested to hear more about the cosmetic damage....I'm sure I've seen this car for sale 12-24 months ago (recognise the plate) which makes me wonder...

Thanks guys,

Matt

From the pics the tires look old, very old. Probably rock hard.

IF the seller is lying about the tires what about the accident?

id have to check back through my old pics and check the reg to comfirm it was the same car but there was couple who came to a few UK meets, the guy lost control in the winter slid off the road and went down a ditch

maybe Paul remembers them, an older couple who turned up to Gaydon wearing matching fleece lined flying jackets

How can you tell that from the photos? Can barely see the tyres...

nah they look like PS2's to me, too rounded a sidewall for PS1, and the tread is in the wrong direction unless they are on backwards. paperbag

Thanks for the responses guys - much appreciated. I will be sure to check those tyres if I visit!

I initially thought that gap between the headlight and the bonnet in pic 3 could be due to the bump but it seems in a few pics of early vipers I've seen there is a gap present...not too worried now. In general I'm a bit worried about the easy access to the interior with the plastic windows...stupid question but do the doors lock at all? (given you can only open from the inside etc..)

Any other info / old pics of this car would be appreciated!

Cheers,

Matt

The Gen 1 doors do lock but only from the inside... You can fit solid windows and fit door poppers (solinoids)....

the soft top weather equipment isnt pretty at all and sometimes useless at keeping the weather out, your better off investing in hard top, solid side windows and door poppers

Is there anywhere in the UK that sells the hard top and windows? I've seen a few sites during googling but all have been US based
