Repairing a GTS Front Fasica
Discussion
That would definitely ge a rather tasty finishing touch to your car, and something I have considered myself on a number of occasions. I'm pretty sure it could be done with pretty basic fibre-glassing skills and filler without too much hassle. At the end of the day sanding and filling til you get it right won't be too much of a headache on a second hand nose. Give it a go..

That's impressive, how was it done? Heat? Filler? I know its some kind of plastic?
Did you do the work yourself? I know Nadine was involved in this project, did she do the repair work on the nose?
The nose was done by local guy up here. Just used heat as it's a plastic. Almost popped staight out. Did you do the work yourself? I know Nadine was involved in this project, did she do the repair work on the nose?

Here you go mate, I'm sure these guys sell pretty much everything you are likely to need, and I'm sure, if you are uncertain, you could give them a ring for some advice, but filler and fibreglassing on the scale you are likely to be talking about is not rocket science, and as I said above, sand and fill until it's right, and you're happy with the result... The pre-mixed easy sand fillers are probably what you are likely to need.

I wouldn't have though you want to go about it with fibreglass products. Its pretty flexible which fibreglass isn't. Mixing the two will probably result in bits cracking or falling off.
you can plastic weld it though
You re dead right, I don't think fibreglass sticks to that kind of soft plastic, The fascia I'm after is no where near as damaged as Scott's was, but once you cut whacking great bug holes in the middle of it some how or another I've got to make a recess for the light covers and fabricate some kind of box section to hold the lights. Quick 5 minute job you can plastic weld it though
Sticky back plastic, Squeeze bottle and an old cornflake box should do it
Clive's got a GenI Fascia up on ebay at the moment Mark...
