Hello fellow Viper owners,

I've just bought my first Viper. A nice red RT10.

I can't help but tinker, and I've already got a list of things I want to do but I'd thought I'd ask the more experienced out there what the most important things are first ?

Cheers,

Hi Jools,

Good choice, loved my Red RT, I do miss that car!

You could easily end up with an enormous list, but I guess it essentially starts with what YOU want to do with it, and what you want from it. To be honest without any idea of what, (if any), upgrades have already been undertaken it's difficult to know where to start.

How far South are you? I'm happy to help if you're in my neck of the woods, and have a fair bit of experience with Viper tinkering on the lower end of the scale... If you're thinking Superchargers or anything in that kind of range probably best to talk to Dr-Bob

Best of luck with it, and look forward to meeting you at a UK Viper Club Event at some point in the future!

Get in contact with Viper Paul should you wish to join the VCA (Viper Club of America) UK Region.

Good colour choice. It is a little known fact that Chrysler made certain modifications to the red RT-10 resulting in a higher top speed than other colours. See if you can make The American Air Day at Duxford on 19th August as there will be quite a few Vipers there.

Ah yes, I saw some very nice induction kits on some tuning sites in the states. Induction is probably one of the first thing to get done.

What Oil do you recommend ?

What kind of improvement will the Billet PS pully make ?

Cheers,

I was told that the Red cars were the quicker ones too ;-) Good job I took the advice !

I'm in Bristol ATM, so more west than south. Thanks for the tip on the Viper clubs, I'll be joining up.

I'll be looking to get the car tidied up, not that it's scruffy by any means. It's been well looked after.
I'll get all the normal stuff, indiction and the like sorted. However I'd love to supercharge it, at some point.

There seems to be a good selection of upgrades available on US websites, are there any Viper tuning websites in the UK ?

Look forward to see you soon !

Just been looking at the Classifieds and noticed that this one has now sold, so I am assuming that it's this:

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2858989.htm

The GenI that was being asked about the other day... Supercharger will be somewhat more difficult on the GenI if memory serves me correctly?

Great looking car though! I do like those GenI's! The Roe Side Exit Exhaust which is available for the GenI is a great upgrade.

You are correct !

It's the first time I've had a Yank Muscle are, I've generally tended to go for the european sports cars (Noble/porsche/lotus) etc. I just love the torque, and the way it pulls out of the corners.

And for a big ol' girl, she handles quite sweetly.

Side exhaust upgrade sounds like fun, I'm going to be taking her to the track once she's fettled, do many people track their cars ? And is a track day due soon ?

Nah I see you in something blue, doesn't matter what you strap to the top of the engine it still a slow red on the outside.

How much do you want to spend for a proper upgrade?

Oh and welcome jools.. Don't worry red is still faster then yellow.

Thanks for the warm welcome !

Decided to take the old girl out for a blast, given it's not raining.

The more I drive the Viper, the more agile it's seems to be. Fast flowing corners seem to be its 'thing', and I just pulls no matter what gear it's in. Looooovely.

Thanks for the links, I'll check my diary and make sure I can come.

Cheers !
