yep i used xe.com to send the money for the ACR, got a rate not far from the spot rate, only downside was due to the amount i had to CHAPS the money this end and wire transfer the other end both of which the banks took a fairly good charge.
On the other hand we are also using them now to finance our US bank accounts and because of the way they work we dont get charged foreign deposit charges in the US as the funds are deposited in US$ from a US bank. This end we can BACS/FPS the smaller sums which is also free, so we send $100 we get $100 the other end.
