Hi folks ,
I have decided to buy a dodge viper and have seen a 2002 example at DES CULLENS DREAM CARS in dublin .The car is on Pistonheads at £26995 which sounds a good price .Can anyone on the forum tell me anything about this car as i am keen to go and see it but need to know if anyone out there knows the car and if so what do you think ? Any help would be greatly appreciated .Thanks - JOHN .

It's yellow which makes it awesome smile joke aside, don't know the car but if everything is ok and no issues it's a bargain at that price. Imported mine from the states recently at much higher cost (2002 rt yellow)

Well the advert says it's a rare Viper, and with a 7.3litre engine it is definitely a one of a kind. wink

Can't tell you anything about that specific car I am afraid, but I would strongly recommend obtaining the VIN and performing a Carfax, this is a must, also, if you can get the VIN to us here, we may be able to do a little more digging for you.

It is an EXTREMELY good price for a Viper of that age, and in that respect, completely unheard of, which does make me question it somewhat, it needs further investigation.

Best of luck, and keep us posted

the outside looks very nice.
inside picture and engine bay looks "dirty"...put it on a lift and see how the underside is looking!
2001 (mf date) had the water pump issue and sometimes leaking oil pans (2001/2002)

HI ALL ,
Thanks for the feedback ,the vin number is 1b3er65e72v102518 .The car was in NEATH south wales until DES CULLEN acquired it around 18 months ago .I have a copy of the V5 .It has been used by DES CULLEN for promo use only and it was imported from usa in 2005 .I think the service history is from 2005 only but with a reported 11k on the clock maybe there wouldnt have been much anyway .I wonder if any of you guys know of any viper chaps near DUBLIN who could have a look at the car for me as i am looking to go see it in the next few days .The guy who owned the car was THOMAS BUTLER who lived in SKEWEN NEATH and who bought it from SVA UK ,EASTERN DOCKS SOUTHAMPTON .The car does have a hard top and will only be used for dry day pleasure use .Even though the car is in DUBLIN it is still on english plates and the salesman told me i wont need to pay any import duties etc as the guy in WALES name IS STILL ON THE v5 .I have a copy of the V5 and i have done an AUTOCHECK HPI which comes out fine .It would be great to have someone in the KNOW to look it over for me because if i get the nod i will buy it .What do you think lads ?

we dont have any viperclub members in Dublin, maybe you could ask to see if a pistonheader could take a look for you

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/forum.asp?h=0&a...

though its only a cheap flight over, id want to see it for myself before parting with the cash

as mentioned get the carfax done to see its US history, you dont really want to buying a repaired vehicle

HPI is a load of bks on these cars banghead MAKE SURE YOU GET A CARFAX. It will give you the history of the car from new in the United States. If you do go and see the car check the Build sticker on the inside of the drivers door, make sure it matches the Vin etc Tyres are very expensive, check them out. Check the Oil, and other fluids (Dark colours = Not good).

Read through the link I posted earlier for Carfax details and other running costs.

Well, it Depends which one it is, Probably Not, but the OEM Soft top will come apart and store in the boot wink

Some Hard tops are aftermarket items, NOT a factory part wink Roe Racing does a double bubble Hard Top for the RT/10 which gives you a bit more head room smile

Have a look here smile

there is only one brand of hard top that fits in the boot, it dismantles into a few peices not many of them were sold, so it 99% probability yours isnt one of them

so you leave the roof in the garage when you go out and take a chance with the weather, or have a soft top in the boot
