Well as you guys and gals know just as my Viper was about to go for sale somebody ran their trailer down the side of it. Oh joy...

Well the repairers Brin Jones in Bristol have had a look and listed the repairs required. It is basically wheels, part of the front suspension, the steering rack as a precaution and some panels. All of this on the passenger side. The grand total is a little over £21,000 so the car is a financial write-off

There's no chassis or engine damage obviously because it was a glancing blow so I guess that makes it a cat C? rather than a cat D?

This week the insurance company are going to advise me of their offer and things will go from there. I won't see the car again. This means two things:

(i) Sorry to those people that were interested but since the car isn't being repaired I can't offer it for sale frown

(ii) If anyone is interested in taking on the car as a project I can provide a contact at the repair company and at the insurance company. Maybe Nad might be interested?

Anyway aside from letting you know there's a project vehicle out there about which I'd be happy to answer questions I guess this is an opportunity to say thanks for all the fun times hooning, the advice and the general banter. I will of course look in here occasionally to scoff at people who suggest the Viper isn't a daily driver so I'll see you around smile

Just remember I am more than happy to provide a club valuation on your vehicle should you have trouble with the insurance company trade price on your car should be at least 32-34K with a retail price of 39-45K but I would need pictures as its a little while since I have seen him.

Best to PM me what you think.

Thanks chaps. If the insurance company mess me around I'll be sure to take up the kind offer of a valuation smile

As for my new wheels, well I was always going to downsize thanks to the joy of medical bills. I think this should be a giggle though. One extreme to another eh?

My first car was a Mini! Great fun, used to drive like a little GoKart.. If I could find it again I'd buy it back! It was a 'Jet Black' special edition .. loved that car!

I regularly used to put my mountain bike in the back seat, so your BMX should fit no problem.. wink

Best of luck mate!

Well it's a nice thought but this Mini is race tuned with a half roll cage in the back. Think I'm going to have to find a roof rack!

OH BUGGER frown

Gutted for you mate frown

As for the Mini, chuck a Honda Civic Type R engine in it, I remember my first Dash for the coast when you were there in the Cobra at the Wisley car park. I ended up following this little mini, well I say following, it was more like trying to keep up! When I got to see the Mini close up the guy had a big grin on his face and showed me the engine, Kin hell that thing was fast!
